He is a postgraduate in Geology from Guindy Campus, University of Madras and obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Delhi in 2001 with a specialisation in Marine Micropaleontology. He served the state department of Geology, Government of Kerala since 2002 and left the post of Geologist after 14 years of service in the Department of Mining and Geology in 2015 and subsequently joined the Collegiate Service, Government of Kerala as a faculty in Geology. In between, he served as Research Officer in the Kerala State Higher Education Council on deputation. He published various articles on Curriculum Designing, particularly Outcome Based Education (OBE).
